Dr. Ume Sughra
MBBS, MPH, FCPS (Comm. Med), Associate Professor &
Dr. Sughra is a medical graduate with Fellowship degree from College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan, in addition to Masters Degree in Public Health from University of Health Sciences Lahore. She is also a certified Nutritionist from University of Aberdeen Scotland with certificate of Achievement. She is a passionate teacher, researcher and academician who enjoys a teaching experience of more than 10 years. She has a number of research papers on her credit published in various prestigious journals both national and international (Indexed and HEC recognized research journals). She has been teaching and conducting workshops on research and on advanced statistical techniques. She is also being invited as an external for paper setting for postgraduate students of NUMS University. She also takes sessions on advanced Epidemiology at AFPGMI Rawalpindi. She has a profound experience in teaching Research Methodology, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Advanced EPI & BIO, Ethics, Health Promotions, Communicable & Non-communicable disease epidemiology.
She is currently working as Assistant Professor ( ASoPH ) & Research Associate of Al-Shifa Research Center. She is also a Curriculum coordinator for designing the course outlines and content for MSPH programme run by Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad. She is an expert of SPSS, STATA and Multiple Method Research (Practical Triangulation) Softwares and has conducted and facilitated a number of workshops on Statistical techniques, Data analysis using SPSS, Research methodologies, Problem Based Learning and on Communication Skills. She is a supervisor for postgraduate as well as undergraduate trainees for their thesis work.
